Mixing & Mastering

We transform raw recordings into polished, commercial-grade masters. From balancing complex frequency spectrums to final loudness optimization, we ensure your music translates perfectly across all playback systems.

Mixing is far more than simply adjusting volume levels. It is the art of organizing the frequency space for every instrument and vocal track, preventing masking and creating a three-dimensional sonic landscape. At Grushdelta, our engineers analyze the genre and emotional intent of your piece to apply the precise processing needed to make your vision a reality.

The mastering stage serves as the final quality control. We apply subtle tonal correction and dynamic control to the stereo mix, ensuring consistency across smartphones, car audio, and high-end studio monitors. This final polish provides the competitive edge and sonic cohesion required for professional digital distribution and physical releases.

Our Technical Process

01

Analysis & Audit

We verify the integrity of your multitracks, analyzing the tempo, key, and arrangement while reviewing your reference tracks to align our sonic goals.

02

The Mix Phase

Using surgical EQ, compression, and spatial effects, we separate elements and build the dynamics, ensuring the vocal sits perfectly in the mix.

03

Mastering Polish

We optimize the overall tone and apply limiting to reach the target LUFS levels appropriate for your chosen streaming platforms.

04

Review & Refine

We deliver the first draft for your feedback and perform precise adjustments to reach the final approved version of your track.

Who Is This Service For?

Our mixing and mastering service is designed for singer-songwriters, bands, and music producers who have completed their recording sessions—whether in a home studio or a professional facility—and now require a professional finish. It is particularly effective for projects where the individual takes are high-quality, but the overall cohesion, depth, and loudness are lacking. Additionally, we support podcast creators and voice artists who need a balanced relationship between spoken word and background music for maximum intelligibility.

Our Approach to Sound Engineering

In the mixing phase, we begin with a rigorous cleaning process to remove unwanted noise and clicks. We then manage the low-end relationship between the kick drum and bass guitar to prevent muddiness, while carving out a specific frequency pocket for the lead vocals. By using sophisticated time-based effects like reverb and delay, we design an immersive soundstage that guides the listener's attention to the most important elements of the song.

During mastering, we examine the full spectrum balance to eliminate harsh frequencies or excessive low-end build-up. We ensure that the final export adheres to strict technical specifications regarding sampling rate and bit depth, making the file compatible with all major distribution standards.

Client Preparation Checklist

To ensure a seamless workflow, please prepare the following materials. First, provide individual multitrack files exported as WAV (44.1kHz/24-bit or higher recommended). Please use clear, descriptive naming conventions such as "Lead_Vocal_Main" or "Snare_Top". Second, provide the exact BPM and time signature of the track. Finally, we strongly recommend providing one or two reference songs—commercial releases with a similar sonic character to what you envision for your project.

Deliverables and Formats

Upon completion, you will receive a high-resolution Master file in WAV format and a high-quality MP3 for quick review. Depending on your needs, we can also provide an instrumental version (backing track) or stem files (grouped tracks like Drums, Bass, Instruments, and Vocals) for live performance or remixing. For a detailed explanation of these technical options, please visit our Audio File Formats Guide.

Timelines and Scheduling

Typically, the first draft is delivered within one to two weeks after we receive all assets. As specified in our business rules, each project includes up to 3 rounds of revisions. Each set of revisions generally takes a few business days to implement. For urgent projects with tight deadlines, please contact us in advance to check availability. All scheduling is handled directly through our engineering team.

What Is Not Included

This service focuses exclusively on mixing and mastering. It does not include extensive pitch correction (Tuning) of raw vocals, complete rhythmic quantization (timing correction) of instruments, or changes to the musical arrangement. If your project requires significant editing or production work, these can be quoted as separate options or discussed during the initial consultation.

Pricing and Tax Structure

Our pricing is based on a fixed rate per track. The prices listed include the Japanese consumption tax (10%). For B2B clients, payment is required within 14 days of the invoice date. For full details on our financial policies, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are the revision rounds counted?

One revision round is counted when you provide a consolidated list of requested changes after receiving a draft. We offer up to 3 such rounds for free. Major changes in direction or requests beyond the 3rd round may incur additional fees.

Can the entire process be handled online?

Yes. File transfers are handled via secure cloud storage, and feedback is managed through email or chat. If necessary, we can schedule online meetings via Zoom to discuss the sonic direction in real-time.

Do you provide stem delivery?

Yes, we can provide stem files (typically 4 to 8 grouped tracks such as Drums, Bass, Instruments, and Vocals) which are useful for live shows or future remixing.

What file formats will I receive?

The primary delivery is a high-resolution WAV file (24-bit/44.1kHz or 48kHz). We also provide MP3 versions optimized for distribution platforms upon request.

High-quality sound is essential for ensuring your musical message reaches the listener without distraction. Grushdelta combines technical precision with musical intuition to bring your work to a professional standard.
